Hüttschlag - Salzburg Region
The holiday village of Hüttschlag in Grossarl valley
Hüttschlag is a small, unique mining village and is located 8km from Grossarl. In the past, the village played an important role within the mining industry.
During the 14th and 15th century Hüttschlag was responsible for a large percentage of the copper and sulphur mining industry. In some of the oldest ducts and tunnels one can still find traces of timber wedges, iron shavings, and pick axes.
Since 1991 Hüttschlag has become part of the National park Hohe Tauern and therefore it is even more appealing to holiday makers! The holiday region has much to offer nature lovers and sport enthusiasts!
Hüttschlag has a wide variety of special attractions on offer, particularly for cross country skiers, winter hikers, and ski tourers.
